Our Story

A rug is a piece of history and a work of art

Andrew Taghavi was born in Iran, a country celebrated for its magnificent Persian carpet-weaving traditions. For decades he has studied how these carpets are woven, the knots that hold them, and the regional styles that give each one its character.

Having lived in the United States for approximately 60 years, Andrew brings that understanding to American homes and design projects. He helps clients find handmade carpets that suit both the room and the way it is lived in.

Heritage and Experience

Decades spent with handmade carpets

Andrew's knowledge of handmade carpets grew over decades of close study of traditional weaving techniques, natural dyes, and regional carpet artistry. He looks at how each piece is made as carefully as at how it looks.

That background shapes the way Rug Brands Direct selects its rugs: with an eye for craft, a respect for tradition, and a clear sense of how a carpet will sit in an American home. Customers are welcome to contact Andrew directly for personal guidance.

Our Standard

Knot, fiber, and everyday livability

Every rug is judged first by the structure of its knots and the integrity of its fibers, then by how well it lives in a home. A beautiful carpet has to hold up to daily use and suit the rooms it enters.
